CGSJ Executive Director Honoured with Two Awards for Professional Excellence and Humanitarian Service

The Centre for Gender and Social Justice is proud to share that our Executive Director, Janisa E. F. Momodu Esq., was honoured with two awards in one evening in recognition of her professional excellence and humanitarian support to women and girls.

At the African Ovation Awards held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Aberdeen, she received an award for Professional Excellence. On the same evening, at the Good Deeds Day Sierra Leone Awards held at the Atlantic Hotel, she was also recognised for Humanitarian Support to Women and Girls.

These recognitions reflect not only her personal commitment and leadership, but also the wider mission of the Centre for Gender and Social Justice in advancing gender justice, legal empowerment, and access to justice for women and girls in Sierra Leone.

For Janisa Momodu, this work has always been more than a profession. It is deeply rooted in lived realities and in a long-standing commitment to dignity, voice, protection, and equal opportunity for women and girls. Her advocacy continues to focus on addressing gender-based violence, strengthening justice systems, and ensuring that women and girls are not left behind.

Speaking on the recognition, she received the honours with gratitude and with a renewed sense of responsibility to continue the work of advocacy, service, and reform. The awards are a reminder that committed and consistent work in the area of justice and empowerment continues to make a difference in the lives of many.

At CGSJ, we see this recognition as an encouragement to continue pushing for meaningful change. We dedicate it to every woman and girl facing barriers to justice, and to all our team members, partners, and supporters whose work and solidarity make this mission possible.

The work continues.
